We host many book clubs, for children, teens and adults. Descriptions of the book clubs we host below. You may find information on the next selections on our event page.

Do you have a bookclub? Or are you interested in starting one? Purchase your books through us! Each member of the bookclub receives a discount on their club purchase (5 or more). Plus, our meeting room rental is waived for book clubs.

ADULT Book Clubs (18 & over):

Fans of Non-Fiction Book Club - book club hosted by LPB Member, Holly D. Will meet approximately every other month to discuss true stories - which are often stranger than fiction! Stand along with meetings, each time we will discuss a new book!

NEW! Fictional Tales of History - a new book club hosted by LPB Member, Marie.  Selects a variety of historical fiction novels (any time period!).  Will meet approximately every other month to discuss (Sunday afternoons but may vary at times).

April/May selection - May 16, 2021: The Night Portrait, by Laura Morelli


      January selection - January 31, 2021: The Girl Who Came Home, by Hazel Gaynor

     First selection - November 22, 2020:  I Was Anastasia by Ariel Lawhon.


NEW! XOXO Book Club - The XOXO meets on Thursdays at 7pm, approximately every other month. Selected titles will explore romantic love and relationships - in their many forms - and include a guaranteed happy ending. Led by bookseller and romance book blogger, Sadie B.

Beyond the Book Book Club selects fiction or non-fiction titles that are timely, and are socially, politically or culturally significant. Beyond the Book Book Club meets approximately every other month, on Wednesday evenings. Led by LPB staff, Kirsten.

         - January/February selection - February 24, 2021: How to Make a Slave and Other Essays by Jerald Walker

K's Book Club selects fiction titles, genre varies.  K's bookclub meets one time every other month. Day of week may vary. Led by LPB staff, Kirsten H. 

         - December selection - December  16, 2020: Followers by Megan Angelo (Signed copies & meet the author on Nov. 11) 


NEW: History is Hope Book Club will discuss non-fiction history titles and meet approximately every quarter. The group will select titles together. Led by former bookseller and History lover, Jim H. Title inspired by Jon Meacham's Podcast- Hope, Through History

          - First selection: January 8, 2021: The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, by Isabel Wilkerson.


Family Book Clubs - child & caregiver

Read Together - Discuss Together: A new book discussion series for teens & adults.  The objective is to help educate as well as facilitate conversations our teens want and need, to have.  One or two selections chosen, caregivers to choose title. 

January/February selection(s): Thursday, February 18 at 6pm

The TALK Conversations about Race, Love & Truth by Wade & Cheryl Hudson - Suggested age 10 & up 

 The Black Friend: On Being a Better White Person by Frederick Joseph - Suggested age 12 & up



Children's Book Clubs - Postponed during COVID

Advance Reader's Copy (ARC) Clubs
Elementary (3rd - 5th) 2pm,  Middle Grade (6th-9th) 3pm, and
 TEEN Group 9th grade & up at 4pm.

The ARC Clubs have been popular since we opened our doors and are now entering their 5th year!   Young readers make selections from books that have not yet been published.  Then, through reviews and group discussions, help us choose what books to put on our shelves! Readers review a minimum of two books per month, and receive goodies at the last meeting — plus more books!  Children are also invited to special private meet & greets with any authors visiting the shop. 

The Winter/Spring session covers 4 monthly meetings (February - June)
Registration required
 $30.00 per child.
