Children's Book Week 2017

It's Children’s Book Week, the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country, launched in 1919!

We are celebrating Children’s Book Week, spanning May 1–7, 2017, with something special EVERY DAY and encouraging our community to READ WITHOUT WALLS!

Children's Book Week Schedule of events:

Tuesday, May 2:
Teen Tuesday - it's all about the teens!
Reading Without Walls* for Teens, 3 - 5:30pm
YA Grab Bag Book Club 5:30pm

Wednesday, May 3:
Reading Without Walls* Kick off Story Time 11am

Friday, May 5:
All-day. Parent Meet-Up! Pick a friend, meet for coffee or lunch, followed by a visit to the community room for extra-fun kid free art activities.

Saturday, May 6:
Meet the author & illustator, Kevin McCloskey, at the Wildlands Conservancy, 11am.
Tales & Treats with Sugar So Sweet - STAR WARS! 3pm ($)

Sunday, May 7:
Meet the author story time, Lisa Papp, at 12pm and again at 12:30pm. Free.
Emmaus Farmers' Market Opening Day 2017 10am - 2pm.

We are asking our young people to explore the world through books and challenges readers to do one of the following:

1) Read a book about a CHARACTER that doesn't look like you or live like you.
2) Read a book about a TOPIC you don't know much about.
3) Read a book in a FORMAT that you don't normally read for fun.
