December Pick: WANDERERS by Chuck Wendig

Wanderers almost defies description. It is a heavy book, literally (800 pages) and figuratively, through the sheer breadth of its portrayal of the human condition. It is being compared to Stephen King's The Stand, which in my mind it surpasses. Set in the not-too-distant future, this incredibly readable, page-turning thriller has everything a reader could desire. Through exquisitely developed characters, Wendig manages to capture and relate to the reader what is at the core of an individual’s unique inner self, as well as what centers our collective humanity. A wonderfully ominous apocalyptic adventure, I cannot wait to put this book in everyone's hands – and you will need both!
