Summertime *Slow Down* Storytime – Some inside, some outside, always casual, pop-in style. Plan a visit to Emmaus to attend a story time, shop then enjoy lunch, or an afternoon treat downtown. All ages welcome unless noted. Thursdays @ 11:30 am. 30 minutes. No cost
It’s SPANISH Time Storytime – Join Spanish-speaking mother & daughter and be introduced to a story told in both English & Spanish, followed by a coloring activity using a few new words! Colors, shapes, numbers, etc. All ages welcome. Wednesdays @ 12 p.m. 6/29 – 8/24. 30 minutes. No cost.
On Our Own Storytime - Is your little one ready for a little independence? Our new “on our own” story time allows caregivers to drop off children in the attic and enjoy the rest of the bookstore or socialize with others outside of the attic. We will read, draw & sing! Great introduction to back to school. Older children may act as helpers! Ages 4 to 8. Alternating Sundays @ 11 a.m. July 10 & 24, August 7 & 21. No cost.
Art Time Story Time - Picture books delight – not only in the words that say so much, but in the illustrations too! Join artist and avid children’s book expert Tara Santoro for an interactive session that will mix the story and the art. Ages 3 to 6 w/adult. Registration is required. 3 classes, Wednesdays @ 11 am. 6/8, 6/15 & 6/22. $25 per class which includes a copy of the selected picture book.
Early Readers - Explore books we love while giving the kids freedom to choose their own titles. June goes by fast; school lets out and BOOM it is already July 4! We’ve created a reading group that works for all types of early readers. Each session children will review a minimum of 3 books and select their choice read for the week. Ages 5 to 8. Thursdays @ 1pm. 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4 & 8/11. 45 minutes. $50 per child, includes 6 books & special author opportunities
Middle Grade - Keep kids reading over the summer with books they will LOVE. Each session hosted by a different LPB Staff member! Choose individual sessions or all four (recommended). Book purchase and registration is required, maximum of 10 students per session. Books may be picked up at the time of registration. Ages 8 to 12. Monthly, Wednesdays @ 6 pm May – August, 1 hr 6/1, 6/29, 7/20 & 8/10.
$50, includes six books & special author opportunities.
Before the Coffee Gets Cold Young/New Adult – .Join us every other week to discuss a variety of books including young adult and adult fiction, non-fiction, and poetry sections. We not only encourage teen readers to branch out from their required reading for school, or the genre they can’t get enough of, but also serve as an outlet for young adults to socialize and discuss books that they may not otherwise explore. Program will continue into the Fall. 6/5 Kick off w/book swag! Ages 15 to 21
Sundays @ 1 p.m. 6/5, 6/19, 7/17, 7/24, & 8/7. Book purchase not required but encouraged.
